Veganuary Ideas

Veganuary is the first month of the year when people are challenged to go vegan for one month. Especially after the overindulging during December, it is a great way to get back in form, improve your health, and at the same time help the animals’ plight and the environment.

Veganuary is a nice New Year’s resolution and at the same time you’re doing a wonderful thing for your health, for animals, and for the environment. Since it’s only one month it is less daunting than changing a diet or lifestyle permanently. Veganuary is brief visit. If you like it, you stay, and if it’s not for you, then you won’t, but I think that with the right guidance and help, you will end up prolonging your visit indefinitely 🙂

When vegans are asked about the choice they made (to live a vegan lifestyle), did you know that the same reply is always given? Myself included, the answer is always this: “It’s the best decision I ever made.”

  1. I love this article. (And the website name!) i am not vegan however over the past couple of years I have found myself moving more towards a plant based diet naturally. It is interesting you mention about “new found energy”. I workout a lot at the gym and I was always worried that if i didn’t eat meat products then i wouldn’t be able to fuel my workouts the same. I did some research and came across a guy called Patrik Baboumian who is a retired world strongman and a massive advocate of working out with a vegan diet. I found your article really interesting and I’m inspired to try Veganuary! How do i keep you updated with my progress – are you on social media? Best Wishes Rick 😊

    • Hi Rick,

Patrick Baboumian is a big advocate of the vegan lifestyle, and in 2012 he was voted strongest man in Germany, he has won several titles over the years, he is quite impressive.

I’m happy my article inspired you to try Veganuary 🙂

You can find me on social media, on Twitter and Instagram

I will be happy to hear from you, and if you have any questions during your progress, please let me know 🙂

      Happy Veganuary!

  2. Hmm, strange, I had never heard of Veganuary. Isn’t that odd?
But after reading several of your enthusiastic reviews of Nutriciously it was about time I considered myself convinced. 🙂

As you know one of my New Year’s resolutions is to cook once a week. And unlike Tom I need recipes. I can’t cook just like that. So I bought the A to Vegan bundle. It looks good.

But guess what, they had an upsell! LOL. I don’t mind upsells. I know you do, so I am just teasing you.

Well, Christine, I am sure you will hear more of my kitchen adventure and I will surely visit your website at times for inspiration. Best and healthy wishes for the New Year.

    • Hey Hannie!

Wonderful! You are beginning a great new year’s resolution, and I think you’re going to love it. I really love to cook, and I’m happy you bought the Nutriciously bundle 🙂 You’re going to find lots of yummy goodies in there 🙂
Lol, they had an upsell, haha, was it another e-book bundle that they have on their website? Good to know it’s only one optional upsell, and at least it’s a nutritrious one, hehe.
Let me know how your kitchen adventure goes, I will be happy to hear of your progress!
      Happy New Year!

  3. I found this to be very helpful to me. I was recently diagnosed with pre-diabetes and am in the process of changing my diet. I do not know if I will try the veganuary or not at this time. I will be trying the recipe for cauliflower rice, it will help me get control of my blood sugar. You give so many options for people to try. I believe that when people are looking for solutions that this will be a good place to start.

Vegan diets and availability are becoming more noticeable in the marketplace. You are giving information that will be critical in their quest for information and how they can achieve a vegan lifestyle.

    • Hi Jerry,

I’m glad that this post was useful to you. The cauliflower rice is really good and what I love about this recipe is that you can add any flavor you like. You can make curried rice or just add some soy sauce, whatever you prefer 🙂

I created this website to help newbie vegans start their vegan journey, and so I am happy to read your words, that my site is providing valuable information. Thank you very much!

  4. Happy New Year, Christine (Happy Veganuary!)! I want to thank you for your hard work and dedication with this website; it is because of your articles that I am now fully devoted to living the vegan lifestyle (I no longer want to contribute to animal cruelty, a larger carbon footprint, or an unhealthier, shorter life). I am excited to partake in Veganuary-I will be eating vegan nacho cheese and the triple chocolate cupcakes TONIGHT! I’m so excited! I’ll definitely let you know how everything turned out! God bless you!

  5. wow, this is great. i found it very shocking as well that I have not heard of veganuary before coming across this article. I have always tried to be a vegetarian for a long time now all to no avail because I can not keep up with the discipline and my cravings for meat. Thanks for sharing this

    • Hi there,

If you want to be a vegetarian or vegan, but are having trouble with your cravings, I would recommend getting either the One Month Vegan Challenge package or Nutriciously’s ebook bundle. Especially the One Month Vegan Challenge was designed to eliminate such cravings. I hope that helps.

  6. Thank you for this article.I am not fully vegan but I can say I eat vegan 95% of the time. I occasionally eat meat when I am invited somewhere and I don’t want to be that person that is fussy about food and seems ungrateful at family and friends dinners.
I also eat cheese once a week and it is something I love eating. But other that this, I eat vegan and it made a big difference for me. You article is very useful as I can cook new recipes.

  7. I did not realize how extensive the reach of Veganuary is.  Surely, the existence of over 1,000,000 participants across 192 countries speaks for it. I used to ask myself, how can one get all the nutrients he/she needs if he/she only relies on a vegan diet.  Well, the list that you shared and the link to relevant recipes provide the answer.

Veganuary is indeed an excellent way to start the new year and let the body recover and cleanse from all the food intake during the holidays.  Thank you for sharing!

  8. Thank you for the information. This is the first time I am hearing about this since I relocated to usa and It really going to be helpful for people like me because, during this holiday, I travel for Christmas and added a lot of weight. I think for people whose body accumulate a lot of at can take this advantage.

  9. What a wonderful resource for Vegan recipe ideas!  I love the Veganuary idea as well. First time even hearing that word to be honest!  It reminds me of no shave November. 🙂 Anyway, I am not sure I’ll be able to give up meat quite yet because I am doing an Atkin-type diet at the moment.  Actually, that’s a good question for you.  Is there any feasible way of doing a protein-heavy diet, ‘vegan style?’  Wondering what the menu would be like.  Thanks for this wealth of information you have provided here.

  10. Hi Christine.

I have been wanting to try going vegan and your website I think is where I should be sticking around.  I see recipes are so many to try out here on your website.  I am going to start with your vegan sausage recipe.  It looks so delicious.  I hope mine turns out tasty because I am taking the first step trying to eat and live healthier as an example to my family.

  12. I’m not a vegan (yet) but I think Veganuary is a great idea!  So many people say, “I couldn’t give up (whatever)”.  How does one know?  As you say, one might even like it!  I don’t think I want to be a vegan but I accept your challenge because…what’s the worst that could happen?  I’ll let you know how it goes!

  13. Hi Christine,

It’s quite interesting to know “Veganuary” for people who like to try a vegan lifestyle. In the past, when people told me they are vegan, I tended to think that most vegan food is tasteless. From your sharing, I started to change my dated mind and think it’s fun and good for our planet.

I love all the photos you attached here to recommend people to try Veganuary, which aims to eliminate animal cruelty and decrease carbon emissions. They look very yummy and informative. So, I should try it soon.

Thanks for sharing. I learned new stuff today.
    Matt
